The release of the PS Vita in the United States and Europe has been announced to be early 2012 as a part of the ‘phased roll-out’ of the new portable gaming system. The main reason for this later than expected release is so that the console can be launched with a number of good quality software options (games in English), although many have seen this as a bad thing and are announcing it as a ‘delay’, I personally think it’s a good thing. As the Japanese version will be available this year it will give the rest of us time to see how well it does.
But do remember, the PS Vita is going to region free, so if you’re in Japan around the time of release, or import charges aren’t a problem for you, then you may want to go and take a look at it.
