So you’re probably wondering whats happened now, well allow me to fill you in as best I can. Activision have announced a number of things over the best few months, some of them good, more than some bad, so we’ll show you the bad today.
Activision have now axed Guitar Hero and True Crime due to the fact that not enough money is being made/will be made. Now I don’t now about you, but I loved the earlier True Crime games, LA and New York, they were great open world style games with an interesting storyline and some fun side missions. So why would they ditch the game at the last hurdle when it is so close to completion? They say the reason is because they believe that it just wont make enough money on release, however the rumour below could have a larger bearing on it all.

The following is simply a rumour and has not been confirmed or denied by anyone from either company. Activision may be moving to acquire Take-Two, the wonderful people behind Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto, so would could this mean, well it could mean nothing, after all Grand Theft Auto has always been a top selling game. However could we see a repeat of Activison and Infinity Ward, were you risk losing your job for making a top selling game? The rumour began in gaming trade mag MCV, who were told by a senior exec source that “there are very strong rumours amongst people at a very senior level within the global business”.
Surffice to say, fans of Take-Two are not happy with the idea of this happening, especially with Activisions current track record.
