Valve’s second installement of the wonderful physics puzzle game Portal is set to be releasedin just a few months time, and with it will come something that many gamers have wanted for a long time.
Players using the PC or Mac versions will be able to play online with players using the Playstation 3 version (and vice versa), but not only that, people that perchase the Playstation 3 version will be able to redeem the PC or Mac version on Steam for free! If that wasn’t enough, Steam will be linking with the PSN (Playstation Network), this means that your achievements/trophies on PC/Mac/PS3 games will be linked, so completing a certain trophy on one will unlock it on the other.
Josh Weier, the project leader of Portal 2 said in a statement – “We designed the Portal 2 PS3 experience to be very straightforward for gamers.” “Ps3 gamers will be able to simply drop the Blu-Ray disc in the PS3, link to thier Steam account from inside the game, and all their Steam friends (on PC and Mac) will be visible and accessible for chat and game invites”.
Portal 2 is set for release in April 2011 on PC, Mac, Playstation 3 and XBox 360 in the UK, Europe and the USA.
